Other than using the above mentioned natural remedies for grey hair you can also make natural hair dye at home with the help of various herbs. These are a safer alternative to chemical dye but that also means they won't lighten or darken hair in one session, you have to repeat the dyeing process several times to get the desired result. Here are a few natural hair dye recipes.
1. Black pepper and lemon
Skip chemical dyes and try this natural hair dye solution to turn or greys into black. Black pepper has immense benefits for the hair, apart from helping maintain the natural colour of your hair it also promotes hair growth.
Black pepper and lemon hair dye:
Mix a tablespoon each of freshly ground black pepper and lemon juice with half a cup yogurt. Mix well and massage into hair and scalp. Leave on for about an hour then wash off with lukewarm water. Repeat thrice a week.
2. Bhringraj
You may have read about the herb Bhringraj in natural hair oils and hair products. It is one of those few ingredients found in nature that offers a ton of benefits. Right from preventing premature aging in making hair strong and shiny, it has the ability to do it all.
Bhringraj hair dye:
Heat Bhringraj in a small pan over low heat with coconut oil and rub the mixture when it's warm into your hair and scalp. Wash off after an hour and repeat 2-3 times a week.
3. Hibiscus
The antioxidants and vitamins in Hibiscus produce melanin a pigment that gives hair its natural colour. The flower can be used to treat a number of hair problems like dandruff, dryness and hair loss.
Hibiscus hair dye:
Soak the leaves and flowers of hibiscus in water overnight and use the water to rinse your hair the next day. If you can't find hibiscus flower or leaves you can also use its powder by mixing it in henna.
